If you're looking to add a piece of equipment to your home gym and you want something that is easy to assemble, won't take up much space and can really take a licking on a hard workout - look no further than the Century Wavemaster's.

A standing bag is a great way to get a work out. The Wavemaster has an ingenious design that allows it to be a free standing bag and not one that you have to spend time finding the studs in your ceiling and hoping they can support it. Since it is free standing you can scoot the Wavemaster around and use it wherever you like to train or simply get in a good workout.

There are about 4-8 assorted wavemasters to choose from that Century Fitness manufactures. A popular one is the Powerline wavemaster. There are four different height adjustments that allow you to adjust the bag from fifty-two inches to seventy-inches. Meaning you can truly customize your workout to your own personal training needs. The hollow base is filled with either sand or water and either filling will give you a great workout. The entire strike surface of the bag is a heavy-duty, high impact foam that can take all the kicks and hits you can dish out. Because of the adjustable nature of this bag, it is great for children to work out and practice their karate moves, tae kwon do, kung fu and more. The bag can also be raised to accommodate adults so this is a piece of work out equipment that every member of the family can use.

The best selling wavemaster that Bestbuymas.com sells is the Xxl wavemaster. This particular one offer a full range of striking area from shin kicks to head strikes.

The Wavemaster can be a great addition to your home gym to help you practice your moves from your favorite martial art discipline or just get in a great workout!

Even seniors can get in on martial arts. There is low key, low impact type of martial arts that is good for working ease of movement. The style is called Tai chi

Tai Chi is a martial art that is Chinese in origin and practiced by a good deal of people for not only it's martial arts heritage but also it's beneficial aspects which many people find soothing.

The actual full name of this martial art is "Tai Chi Chuan", which is a Chinese phrase that roughly means, "Supreme ultimate fist". This makes Tai Chi sound like a fast moving and rough martial art - however Tai Chi is about learning slow controlled movements with your body. Although as far as martial arts go, it's a relatively new martial art with origins around the early 1800's.

Tai Chi is considered a soft style martial art with emphasis on relaxed muscle positions and the use of an opponent's momentum, which is in direct contrast to harder styles of martial arts that concentrate on force to force tactics.

You will need comfortable clothing or a Kung fu uniform to practice Tai Chi as well as comfortable kung fu shoes. Learning to move with the world is taught and it's a great way to relieve stress and many people consider it close to meditation. There are two main teachings. In the first part of the training, steady, deep breathing is practiced. A supple posture and smoothness of movement.

In the second part of the art, you will learn to interact and move with the flow with other people and use of the hands in a pushing out motion to exercise all limbs.

Seniors can benefit from Tai Chi classes as a way to continue being physically fit well into their golden years.

If you have someone with a birthday or other special occasion coming up, instead of the run-of-the-mill gift - get them something that they can really use in their martial arts training. Besides visiting their dojo they will need to train outside of classes and that is where you can come up with a great gift idea.

A jump rope will be a very welcome edition to their work out regimen. It's a great way to get warmed up before a work out and also jumping rope will give a person a very good cardio vascular workout.

Another valuable gift would be a leg stretcher. For almost every martial art out there, fluid movement of the legs is very necessary. In order to avoid injury to the tendons of the leg stretching and warming is very important as well using a leg stretcher to build up strength and agility in the legs. Regular use of a leg stretcher will enable the martial artist to have smoother kicks as well as a greater range of motion in their legs. One that we highly recommend is the Proforce Stretchmaster machine. It's very easy to use and comes all assembled. Right now we have a free shipping special on this item.

A new martial arts uniform would also make a fabulous gift. Unlike traditional clothing, a martial arts uniform isn't form fitting and needs to be loose to allow for easy motion of the body. Therefore it's much easier to "fit" someone for a gift and not have to worry about their exact clothing size. We have a nice variety of Karate uniform brands to choose from as well as Tae Kwon Do uniforms.

When you have a hard to buy for person that is interested in the martial arts - get them a gift that is something they will appreciate and use for years to come, they will truly appreciate your thoughtfulness
