The mission of the Carriage Barn's Betty Barker Gallery is to present compelling exhibitions that support NCSA member artists, introduce other emerging and established artists and engage the community.  A wide array of visual art in a broad range of styles, media, and subjects reflects the lively and diverse group of artists who share their work in this exceptional gallery space.

The exhibition season offers a combination of established annual shows, including the Member's Show, a juried photography exhibition, and SPECTRUM, the major juried event for painting, drawing, graphics and sculpture, as well as invitational exhibitions selected by the Curator and Exhibition Committee.

Recent invitational exhibitions have included such small group shows as the critically acclaimed Fine Art of Drawing and Visual Soliloquies.  Larger group invitationals such as Botanical Art Modern Masters and Pure Pigment: Contemporary Pastels have also been well received by artists and art patrons alike.

The emphasis is on contemporary art, but several exhibitions incorporating historical work have proved immensely successful, including Realism and New England Impressionism and the WWII Artists exhibition.  The WWII exhibition and Unleashed! Images of Man's Best Friend received remarkable support and praise for their artistic merit and relevance to the greater community.
