Jenny Chapman - Founding Music Director
Jenny is an all-round musician from Adelaide with a background in piano
teaching, classroom music teaching, accompanying, song-writing, choral
conducting and church music.
She has also had a parallel career in the Christian ministry in leadership of
children’s, women's, small-group and pastoral care programs spanning 35 years.
Jenny currently teaches Music at The Friends’ School in Hobart and is the
Music Director at Hobart Baptist Church where her husband is the Pastor.
With the help of a willing band of like-minded volunteers, Jenny formed the
Choir of High Hopes, Hobart, in October 2007 after being inspired by the
'Choir of Hard Knocks' documentary ABC TV series.
Helen Todd - Vocal Coach and Coordinator
Following 10 years as a professional singer in Europe and Australia Helen
commenced her practice in the field of voice training and rehabilitation.
She has lectured in Voice at tertiary level and operates her own teaching
studio in Hobart and Launceston. Helen presents at conferences, has
published papers on choral training and voice rehabilitation and regularly
conducts workshops both in Tasmania and interstate.
Helen also provides her expertise to corporate and government organisations
as a trainer in public speaking, and coaches professional voice users in the
safe and effective use of the voice in business and theatre.
