The colors may vary substantially based on species, texture and porosity of wood, and application technique. High Sierra is extremely transparent allowing the beauty of wood grain to show, but since it is so transparent the color of stain you select will be influenced by the color of the underlying wood. It is imperative that you test the stain on an inconspicuous area to make sure you get the color you want.
