About ISO 14001
 

The Environmental Management System Standard

ISO 14001 is an Environmental Management Systems specification document that requires organization to establish and implement environmental policies which include a commitment to compliance with environmental laws and pollution prevention.

 

The requirements of the standard help organizations establish and meet their own policy goals through objectives and targets, organizational structures and accountability, management controls and review functions all with top management oversight thereby enhancing an organization's ability to attain and measure environmental performance.

ISO 14001 Certification facilitates trade and helps remove trade barriers by allowing organizations to demonstrate to interested parties that they conform to an internationally recognized set of requirements.
